During the evolutional course of Mother Nature and the conflict between man and nature, different kinds of natural disasters take place unexpectedly, such as earthquake, volcano eruption, landslide, tsunami, typhoon and flood, as well as land sedimentation, desertification, drought, and coastline change, some of them take very long time to gradually uncover the negative impacts. These disasters not only threaten the existence and development of humans, but also bring huge impacts to forests and ecosystems.
How to respond actively to natural disasters and maintain ecosystems sustainably healthy is a serious issue, also a long term mission for the whole world. The upcoming International Conference on the Efforts in Response to Forest-Related Natural Disasters aims at building a platform for forestry experts, gathering them together to study on the severe situation, along with the causes and impacts of forest-related natural disasters, providing communication opportunities on countermeasures, methods and ideas to prevent and reduce disasters, improving understanding ability and technical level, jointly maintaining the balance of global ecosystem, promoting sustainable development of forest socially and economically.
